80s Technology – Computery Music Double Play!

Since Monday’s post about Macs in the 80s, I’ve been thinking a lot more about 80s technology! Of course today is Wednesday which means the regular music video double play, so I’ve tracked down two great songs about computers or computery themes!

First is a song by Aussie band Dear Enemy – Computer One:

Second, perhaps unsurprisingly, is groundbreaking electro group Kraftwerk. There were so many songs I could have chosen, but I went with Computer Love (can you say “ahead of their time”?!)

80s Technology – Apple Forever

Ugh. I have had such a time in the past couple of weeks! My laptop died, which was, admittedly, my fault – I tried to update the OS and took a wrong turn and landed in worlds of trouble. Happily the lovely guy at the Apple store fixed it for me, but I was without a computer for way too long! Funny how in the past few years technology has become that much a part of our lives that most of us can’t do without our gadgets for a couple of weeks.

Remember Macs in the 80s? I do! The one and only Steve Jobs and co-founder Steve Wozniak were responsible for some of the most amazing technology in the 80s and beyond. It’s really only been in the past couple of years that the general public has cottoned on to how amazing Apple is and sales have gone through the roof.

If you’re old school, you might remember the computers like the one above – how much has changed since then! But one thing that has remained the same is that Apple are cool, innovative, and still make awesome ads!
