Another fantastic 80s makeover movie!
In Can’t Buy Me Love, Ronald Miller – School Nerd dreams, of course, of being part of the popular clique. His opportunity comes when the Most Popular Girl in School, Cindy Mancini, ruins her mother’s very expensive and very 80s suede dress and she has to replace it before Mom finds out. Cindy doesn’t have the money – Ronald does.
He offers her the $1000 she needs – in return she has to pretend to be his girlfriend so that he can become popular at school. Naturally Cindy takes the money, goes ahead with the plan, and Ronald becomes popular. But, all 80s makeover movies have a moral, and Ronald soon finds that being popular is not all it’s cracked up to be, and that there are more important things – like falling in love with the hot cheerleader.
